Soul or Slop

Terms of Service

Effective August 27, 2026

Operator and contact

Operator: Mike Sheehan

Contact: support@soulorslop.com

By using Soul or Slop, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Notice.

The service

Soul or Slop provides probabilistic signals about whether image, text, or music content may be AI-generated. Website checks provide a heuristic evidence score based on community lists and technical patterns. Results are estimates, not proof, and may be wrong.

Free access and accounts

Anonymous users currently receive 3 image, 3 text, 2 music, and 2 website checks per day. Signed-in free users currently receive 10 image, 10 text, 5 music, and 5 website checks per day. Limits reset at midnight UTC and may change.

You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure. Information you provide must be accurate and you may not use another person's account without permission.

Coming-soon features and waitlists

Paid plans, credits, subscriptions, premium checks, and Checkout are coming soon. They are not currently purchasable or available, and billing is disabled for the free-only launch.

You may voluntarily join an availability waitlist for paid plans or video detection. Waitlist information is used only for the requested availability notice and may be removed as described in the Privacy Notice.

Your content

You retain your rights in content you submit. You give the operator and its service providers permission to process that content only as needed to run and secure the requested detection service. You must have the right to submit the content and must not upload content unlawfully.

Image, text, and music content is analyzed in your browser. Video and premium checks are not available during the free-only launch. Website checks require our server to fetch the public URL you submit. You must not use this feature to probe private systems, bypass access controls, or violate a website's rights.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • break the law or infringe another person's rights;
  • upload malware or content intended to disrupt or compromise the service;
  • bypass quotas, rate limits, authentication, payment controls, or other technical restrictions;
  • probe, scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • resell access or use the service to build a competing dataset without written permission.

Do not rely on results as proof

No AI detector is 100% accurate. Do not use a Soul or Slop result as the sole basis for employment, education, credit, housing, legal, safety, moderation, disciplinary, or other high-stakes decisions. Review the underlying content, context, and other evidence, and involve a qualified person where appropriate.

Third-party services

The service depends on third parties for authentication, hosting, and some detection. Their terms may also apply when you use their services. We are not responsible for third-party outages, changes, or results beyond our reasonable control.

Availability and termination

The service is provided on an as-available basis. We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, or respond to a violation of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for decisions made in reliance on a detection result. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
